Parks & Recreation

People in Waverly believe recreation and happiness go hand in hand. We make it easy for all in our city, young and old alike, to enjoy our two beautiful parks. Our playgrounds and athletic fields are for public use and places of gathering for our community. Go Bulldogs!

Youth Sports Programs

Our city offers programs in track and field, baseball, softball, basketball, and swimming, with the flexibility to launch more programs based on enrollment. Participation fees are usually due at time of sign-up and teams are assigned based on the number of participants.

Contact us at City Hall for more information! Or stop by during business hours.

Jones Park

Jones Park is home to the city’s swimming pool and baseball diamonds, and has its own playground, modern restrooms, and community shelter.

The swimming pool is open every day in June, July, and August.
Monday-Saturday, 1p-5p.
Sunday, 2p-7p.

There is a $2 admission fee for the pool. Discount passes may be purchased at City Hall. Adults can bring children under the age of five for free. The ball diamonds are busy throughout the summer with youth sports programs.

The community shelter is available for your family or group get-together! Simply contact city hall or stop in during business hours.

Waverly Park

Waverly Park can be easily located by the unmistakeable water tower, or if you’re lucky enough to come by during Ohio Days, by the throngs of happy people participating in all sorts of activities. Waverly Park has a wide open area for recreational activities, a large covered shelter with electricity, modern restrooms, and its own playground.

The community shelter is available for reservation — simply contact City Hall, whether in person, by phone, or with the online contact form here.

Veterans' Memorial

We here in Waverly honor those who have served in the armed forces of our nation. Our Veterans Memorial in Waverly Park can express only a part of our dedication to those who have sacrificed so much for our country. Visit the monument and get involved in our Veterans’ organizations.
