Amendment to Cereal Malt Beverage Ordinance 555…On April 10, 2019, the City of Waverly, Kansas adopted Ordinance 555, amending Chapter III, Article 2, Section 3-217 of the Code of the City of Waverly, Kansas, relating to the sanitary condition requirements of premises which are licensed to sell enhanced cereal malt beverage.

Cereal Malt Beverage Ordinance 554…On March 13, 2019, the City of Waverly, Kansas adopted Ordinance 554, regulating the sale of cereal malt beverage and beer containing not more than 6% alcohol by volume within the City of Waverly, Kansas and amending Chapter III, Article 2 of the Code of the City of Waverly, Kansas.

WATER RATES INCREASE - effective January 1, 2019 usage

WATER RATES INCREASE…On December 12, 2018, the City of Waverly, Kansas adopted Ordinance 553, providing for and fixing the rates to be charged for water sold by the City of Waverly, Kansas, and repealing Ordinance 549, the previous ordinance fixing the rates to be charged for water in the City of Waverly, Kansas.  Click below for link to Ordinance 553.

City Hall is working on upgrading and renewing parts of the water distribution network in Waverly. If you have any questions or concerns, stop by during business hours!

December 2017 - Bulk Water is working again.

You can now purchase bulk water at the coin operated machine
on the South side of City Hall. Open 24/7. Machine takes quarters.



Regular Trash Day for Waverly Pickup is May 14th.

County provides free landfill service during  Spring Clean up May 13-18th. 

Place your regular trash as usual.  Place city –wide clean up items in separated piles along the side of the street.  Limbs in small bundled stacks, furniture items close to street and break it down if possible making it easier to pick up.

NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS—old paint cans, oil/gas cans, tires, batteries or any other items that would be considered Hazardous need to be taken to the Coffey County Landfill.

Specialty items such as appliances, iron, sheet metal, bicycles, wagons, old sinks, tubs, toilets, etc. will be picked up by a person contracted with the city. All items must be in a side by side manner located close to the street.  These items will be picked up any time between May 13 thru 18th.

Maps will be available on May 31st at City Hall, Grand Central Station, Pearson Ave Cafe, First National Bank, Waverly Auto Parts and the Post Office.

OK Kids Coffey County is an annual rain or shine, free weekend of family fun, outdoor activities, camping, entertainment, and food held annually at John Redmond Reservoir’s Riverside West campgrounds.

The John Redmond Reservoir, Riverside West campgrounds are host to campers who come to celebrate the great outdoors and participate in activities such as archery, canoing, crafts, paint ball trail shooting, and much more.

Coffey County Fair

Coffey County boasts the “longest-consecutively-running fair in the State of Kansas.” 2018 will mark 138 years of the Coffey County Fair. 

The Waverly Tip Top 4-H club members participate in many of the activities and competitions during the fair.
