2019 Uniform Public Offense Code Ordinance No. 556

On September 11, 2019, the City of Waverly, Kansas adopted Ordinance 556,regulating public offenses within the corporate limits of the City of Waverly, Kansas; incorporating by reference the Uniform Public Offense Code for Kansas Cities, edition of 2019.

2019 Standard Traffic Ordinance No. 557

On September 11, 2019, the Governing Body of the City of Waverly, Kansas passed Ordinance No. 557, regulating traffic within the corporate limits of the City of Waverly, Kansas; incorporating by reference the Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities, edition of 2019, with certain omissions, changes, and additions; prescribing additional regulations; providing certain penalties and repealing ordinances numbered 541.

 The ordinance adopts the 2019 Standard Traffic Ordinance with certain amendments to sections 114.1-114.5, specific to the City of Waverly. 2019 Water Rate Structure

FALL COUNTY and CITY-WIDE CLEAN-UP

Trash Day for Waverly Pickup is Tuesday, October 15th.

Place your regular trash at the curb as usual. Limbs must be tied securely in bundles. LARGE ITEMS such as household appliances, metal, bicycles, bathroom fixtures, etc. will be picked up by Republic Trash Services on October 15th. All items must be located close to the street so the collector can easily lift into the truck.

Coffey County will provide free landfill service during  Fall Clean up October 14-19. 

NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS—old paint cans, oil/gas cans, tires, batteries or any other items that are considered Hazardous need to be taken to the Coffey County Landfill.

City Council Meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month 6:30 PM – City Hall 

Ohio Days

Many of the early settlers of Waverly were from Ohio. This heritage is still celebrated annually at the multi-day Ohio Days Festival held every second weekend in July. The festival includes:

  • A parade down Pearson Ave;
  • 5K run and 2K walk;
  • Dance in the city park;
  • Free breakfast and church service; and
  • Carnival, games and contests.
