Our schools are our pride and joy.

Ask anyone in Waverly — our schools are our most prized possessions and sources of joy. We show up to all the events we can, we celebrate together when our kids do well, and we ensure that we are creating the safe, happy, nourishing places children need to thrive.

Waverly Elementary

Waverly Grade School educates over a hundred students each year. We make sure that every student is given individualized care and attention by keeping one teacher on average for every nine students.

Waverly Junior & Senior High

Our high school is dedicated to facilitating academic growth that will enable students to become productive and responsible citizens in an ever changing world. Our roughly 140 students participate in a wide range of extracurriculars. We have everything from Band, Choir, Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), National Honor Society,  Seatbelts Are For Everyone (SAFE) and Student Council.

For sports, we have great opportunities for students to participate in football, volleyball, basketball, track and field, cross country, baseball, softball, and cheerleading. Our mascot is the Bulldog and we love our orange-and-black uniforms. One of the best advantages of going to Waverly High: if you want to participate in something, there is an abundance of opportunity for you to join in.

Waverly Library

The Waverly Library is a branch of Coffey County Library. With high-speed internet access and and shelves filled with the most rewarding books, the library is a great complement to our education system. And because it is linked with the County Library network, if something isn’t immediately available in one branch, it can be secured from any of the other five libraries in the network.
